#5806 - Tekno - Scania - 75 large scale fire truck (Rare 1st type - 1959- )
Reference Techno ( Denmark ) : 445
Item without its box -
Model status: 4.5
The box reproduces a Scania-Vabis L75 series, the new generation that Scania-Vabis launched in the spring of 1958; with a reinforced chassis, and a more spacious cab that would be kept on all the brand's classic trucks until 1980. With its first type 10-nut zamak molded wheels painted silver; and its silver-painted ladder support; there is no doubt! This is the rare very first version of this model! We regret the absence of the hose reel at the back. This is one of the reasons why the model is offered to you at a very competitive price. Because the model is superb: very beautiful thick and shiny paint. No scratches to report. No oxidation. The mechanism is functional. The windows are intact. Also note the superb decals affixed to the doors. One might think it just came out of the factory! We appreciate the presence of an old price, from that era, on the chassis: 600 Fr! Tekno followed the evolution of the real Scania over the years. The common cab having been used for a very long time, the manufacturer updated the type number printed on the model — 75 first, then 76, then 110 — to match the real versions (Scania-Vabis L76 around 1963, L110 from 1968). This "75" marked example, with silver-painted wheels and ladder support, is therefore indeed the first type, the closest to the 1959 release, and the least common. In the 1950s, the Danish brand became a serious competitor, even against Dinky Toys, with models renowned for their precision and mechanical functions. Choosing a Scania-Vabis was not insignificant: a neighboring Scandinavian brand, iconic for a Danish manufacturer, and fire engines — spectacular, manipulative — were stars of the catalog. This 445 perfectly illustrates this positioning: a fun but well-crafted fire truck, sold at an affordable price, which accompanied a whole generation of children between 1959 and 1972. How can you not seize this opportunity!
