Studebaker, a manufacturer from South Bend (Indiana), achieved great success in the immediate post-war period with its avant-garde designs by Raymond Loewy. Its light and medium trucks embodied a certain idea of American modernity, which explains Dinky Toys' enthusiasm for reproducing it in Liverpool from 1950.

Launched under reference 30P and based on a North American-designed cab, shared with other models in the range, the tanker was distributed in red or green.

An initial livery was produced with only the mention PETROL. It was during this period that some copies left the factory without advertising. They are rare!

Very quickly, Dinky Toys expanded its catalog with many other advertising variations such as "Mobilgas" and "Castrol", notably for the export market. The wheels are convex zamak hubs, painted according to the versions (green, red), and fitted with smooth black tires.

Our model, without markings, is therefore from the very beginning of production, i.e., 1950. You will have to tolerate the presence of some wear and tear, and simply take advantage of this opportunity to add this rare, entirely original piece to your collection.

It's a beautiful model! It will be easier for you to complete your series with the classic advertising versions!
