Our model is equipped with chrome steel rims; this is the first version. No suspension or interior fittings. There are a few chips, mainly on the sides. The roof is in excellent condition. The model is entirely original. Small molding defect on the left rear door. However, the overall appearance remains very presentable. In fact, the photo was taken before I did a little cleaning! This is a rare model! This Corgi Toys Citroën DS 19 bears the reference 210, and it holds a special place in the history of the Welsh firm (Corgi, a sub-brand of Mettoy in Swansea): it is the very first non-British car in the Corgi range! Production began in early 1957 for our version, thus making it part of this first production run. From 1960, Corgi would add interior fittings and suspensions... Corgi, in the midst of an innovation race against Dinky, wanted to expand its catalog to include notable continental models. The DS, unveiled in 1955, was the technological star of the moment. It was therefore an obvious choice! And Corgi succeeded in its gamble: this two-tone version is very successful and very harmonious. One can understand why Corgi chose to reproduce it at 1/45th scale; this makes the object more accessible for a child.
