The Super 8 is a large, prestigious American sedan distinguished by its imposing lines, enveloping fenders, and semi-recessed spare tire on the rear flank. Packard sought to stand out from its competitors Cadillac and Lincoln, with whom rivalry was strong in the luxury car market. In 1939, Dinky Toys launched its reproduction in its famous and historic 39 series. It is generally considered by collectors to be the most elegant of the entire American 39 series thanks to its prominent side-mounted spare tire, very faithfully reproduced by Dinky. Its zamak wheels with black-painted hubs allow us to identify this model as being produced post-war. Apart from the presence of a few chips mainly located on the wheel rims of the left flank, the model is in very good condition. The model presents very well; it should never be forgotten that this type of product was distributed in boxes of six pieces and therefore never received an individual case to protect it! Beautiful glossy paint, this "Harrod's green" shade suits this beautiful car well! A little anecdote: look at the selling price displayed on this model at a time when it was offered at a swap meet stall in Great Britain: 50 pounds!
