#5244 - KB - Car - Limousine - Rare German production during the War!
Reference KB ( Germany ) : ∅
Single element - ∅
Model status: 4.0
Equipped with raw zamac wheels, this rare model, whose paintwork is entirely original, was manufactured in Germany during the war by the toy manufacturer KB. The Karl Bub Spielwarenfabrik company was founded in 1851 in Nuremberg by Karl Bub. It is often simply called Bub or abbreviated KB, or KBN when stamped Karl Bub Nürnberg. It specialized early on in tinplate toys and mechanical toys with wind-up mechanisms. Karl Bub is particularly known for its wind-up trains and lithographed steel locomotives, and later for its mechanized toys and vehicles. It is worth noting that at the beginning of the 20th century, Karl Bub was a major name in the German toy train industry, competing with other Nuremberg-based manufacturers (such as Bing). During the Second World War, like many pre-war German factories; Toy manufacturing was severely disrupted and then partially destroyed during the war, but some toys were produced in the 1940s and 1950s. This is the case with our model, which makes it so rare! After the conflict, recovery was difficult: the company tried to relaunch itself with popular products like Bubmobil and electric trains, but competition and market changes gradually weakened the company, which finally ceased operations around 1966.
