Raw zamac wheels. This is the first version. A second version will be equipped with one-piece plastic wheels with chromed steel trim. Mebetoys has perfectly reproduced the Escort; their reproduction is far superior to that of Dinky Toys! This version without decals is quite rare! Indeed, Mebetoys mainly produced this model in a rally version (reference 8552)! It is known in white, orange, or blue, but always with a matte black hood and its racing number; a tribute to the car's victory in the London-Mexico Rally, a marathon road race. It is much less common to find it in a touring version, with a hood the same color as the rest of the body. We note the presence of some scuff marks (particularly on the right door), and a few missing parts/defects. However, this model remains very presentable! It just needs a little cleaning, which will keep you busy on winter evenings. Everything is original.
