Reference Galco ( Argentina ) : ∅

Single element -

Model status: 4.5

A very interesting model! Produced in Argentina by Galgo. One-piece black plastic wheels with chrome trim. The model is in mint condition with a beautiful glossy paint job. We note a few small scratches and some scuffs on the edges. The most significant flaws are scuff marks on the lower bodywork, but these are only visible when the model is viewed from underneath. This is a rare and fragile item. We therefore appreciate the presence of all the separate parts: the four headlights and both bumpers are all present and intact! This interesting product dates from the mid-1980s. We note the ingenuity of the company's management, as Galco means "Greyhound" in Spanish, a breed of dog known for its speed. This should be seen both as a reference to Corgi Toys, which also used a dog as its brand icon… and as an allusion to speed! Indeed, the miniatures produced by Galco were equipped with speed wheels! This company was popular in Argentina. In the early 1970s, the company produced modest, simple models in lead or metal, very rudimentary and inspired by European brands. Then, the firm ventured into the production of miniature racing cars. It also tackled other scales, such as 1/60th. In the early 1980s, it specialized in 1/43rd scale, producing passenger cars, racing cars, trucks, and utility vehicles. It also drew inspiration from Corgi Toys, producing cars based on popular Argentine TV series and licenses. So, be sure to appreciate this type of production! Proof that miniature production in Argentina cannot be reduced to just the Bubby company!
