This skier was produced by Hornby for set number 11, the "Traveling Figures" set. Set number 10 (Railway Personnel) and set number 11 were released in 1953 to replace sets 1, 2, 4, and 5. This skier, wearing an orange sweater and green trousers, is number three in set 11. These plastic figures were designed to be unbreakable and were produced to replace the more fragile lead figures. Unfortunately, they weren't quite as unbreakable as expected… On the model shown here, there's a break in the ski pole held in the skier's left hand. However, at this price, all is forgiven! Take this opportunity to add a little life to your display cases. Ideal for placing next to a snowplow!
