Reference Mercury ( Italy ) : 42
Item without its box -
Model status: 4.5
Description: Beneath its sensible sedan body lies a giant-killer: the Fiat-Abarth OT 1000 (the "OT" (Omologata Turismo) designation signifying its road-going and sporty purpose), the work of the "wizard" Carlo Abarth, who transformed modest Fiat 850s into little rockets capable of dominating their category and taunting far more powerful cars in the mid-1960s, under the scorpion emblem. It is this aura of a Transalpine giant-killer that Mercury, the oldest Turin firm founded in 1932, chose to immortalize in zamac under its reference 42, at a time when Italian manufacturers were celebrating the exploits of their national champions. The miniature captivates with its accuracy and racing details: a scorpion emblem on the grille, "Fiat Abarth 1000" lettering, a red side stripe, an Italian license plate "TO 51 0120", number 132, a red interior, bare zamac hubs, and black tires. The Mercury catalog also featured, under the nearby reference 41, the Bialbero version (No. 186) with a specific body. Our example corresponds to the gray OT 1000 sedan, No. 132. The offered example, in metallic gray, is complete. It shows some usual signs of use for a toy of this age, but these are minimal. Look closely: this miniature mainly needs a little cleaning! This is a very beautiful miniature, a superb evocation of the small Turin racer! Enjoy it if you can't have the real thing!

The descriptions
However, the quality and accuracy of our description may sometimes be proportional to the value of the model: for lower-priced models, the description may be more concise. Nevertheless, each product for sale is photographed from three angles; and we have implemented the ability to zoom in on the photos (by clicking on them) to allow you to examine the product in detail.
