Description: The Giulia Bertone Canguro is not a production Giulia Berlina, but the famous Bertone Canguro prototype designed by a very young Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone. The real car was presented in 1964 and was based on an Alfa-Romeo Giulia TZ2 chassis. The Canguro is a one-off. Its extremely fluid, extreme style, with its large glass surface and very low profile, has left its mark on the history of Italian automotive design. Many consider it one of Giugiaro's masterpieces. The car appeared at Mercury around 1966-1967. At the time, Mercury was in a creative period with a strong tendency to want to reproduce Italian prototypes, show cars, or Bertone, Pininfarina, or Ghia models. This model, however, was probably not produced in large quantities and remains rare today. We regret the absence of the fuel cap... But that's not a problem. At Auto Jaune Junior, we always have good ideas: You can position it next to a gas station in your display cases, pretending that the driver is filling up the tank! It must be said that this type of machine must have consumed a lot of fuel! More seriously, our version is equipped with chrome plastic wheels, and the model is in excellent condition, the paint is absolutely sublime, thick, shiny... the rest is complete with its decal applied to the rear right of the roof. Finally, what about the box? We note the presence of a vintage price tag on one of the two tabs. However, the rest is in 5/5 condition. The box is complete, well-formed. No wear, no deformation, no graffiti. The whole is superb!
