Description: A very beautiful small model, especially for all fans of the France Jouet company; a company originally called "France Jouet Mécaniques", founded in Marseille, just after the war, by Henry Fauvel and Jean-Marie Moheng. This GAK refrigerated truck for MEAT, manufactured in the early 1960s, is offered here in 100% original condition! The model is complete with all its tires, including the spare wheel; and these are all original, black, and grooved tires, typical of France Jouets. We also appreciate the presence of the four side plastic blinds. I (carefully!) minimally tested their opening... and it is functional! Further proof of the robustness of this Marseille-based company's toys! Moreover, the two "viandes" (meat) decals are still present and intact... Even if the positioning of the decal at the back leaves something to be desired! It must have been applied by the worker at the end of the day! The version offered here is an intermediate version. Indeed, it still has raw zamak rims. However, the cabin is now glazed and houses the driver as well as his co-driver. There are many color variations of this model. This one has a red chassis and a cream body, which offers a beautiful color harmony. I find France Jouet's productions full of charm, with their deliberate choice of scale allowing them to specialize in the production of trucks and heavy goods vehicles that could still fit into a jacket or trouser pocket to take to school and pull out during recess! France Jouet's strength lies in its ability to produce robust toys without compromising on the quality of the reproductions. There is a real sense of excellence in these productions. Our model could use a little cleaning. And there are also a few chips. However, one must appreciate this type of object when it is complete and offered at this price.
