Description: In 1948, the Pons Plan - designed to limit competition during the Reconstruction - allocated the manufacture of medium-tonnage heavy goods vehicles to Panhard. This was an opportunity for the brand to produce the Diesel engine designed during the war: the robust 4-cylinder 4HL 6,785 cm³ engine, under Lanova license, developing 100 hp at 2,000 rpm. The Movic then appeared with its characteristic forward cab, and from 1948 this engine equipped the entire range of Panhard trucks and buses, also powering other manufacturers such as Chausson, Delahaye, Isobloc or Somua. In terms of use, the Movic was available as a carrier and as a semi-trailer tractor. The end was swift: in 1962, after the takeover by Citroën, Panhard abandoned heavy utility vehicles, bringing an end to the Movic's career. The tarpaulin configuration - short tractor coupled to a semi-trailer with covered sides and a removable tarpaulin - was typical of express and general goods transport; the SNCF livery reproduced by the toy corresponds to this rail-road collection and delivery service provided by the railway company. It was one of the great utility vehicles from Dinky Toys France, sold from 1952 to 1961 under reference 32AB (renumbered 575 at the end of its career). Over its entire production, this model had four variants, distinguished by the tarpaulin's screen printing, the underside of the tractor's roof (smooth then checkered), the presence or absence of a reinforcing brace under the rear axle, and the shape of the rims. The example presented here corresponds to the second evolution: the roof is checkered and the V-shaped brace is present under the trailer. It has the second, rarer tarpaulin, where the SNCF emblem and the map of France stand out against a plain green background (not checkered). The body features the characteristic deep night blue, enhanced with silver on the grille and headlights. The wheels are blue convex hubs fitted with black tyres. There are a few chips on the most prominent edges of the cab, as is often the case with these used toys; the tarpaulin, however, remains clean (two small scratches on the top). We will obviously appreciate the fact that this model is entirely original. No touch-ups. Very nice thick paint. The screen prints are in excellent condition. Great opportunity to seize!
