Description: The Corgi Toys 1127 Simon Snorkel Fire Engine is one of the most ambitious and well-equipped models in the Corgi Major Packs Emergency Vehicle range. Introduced in 1964 and produced until 1974, it is an exceptionally detailed and feature-rich model for its time: a rotating and elevating Simon Snorkel articulated arm with a yellow basket, up to 6 firefighter figures, a swivel chrome water cannon, a silver rear platform, and a Bedford cab with a detailed interior. This model was a huge commercial success and represents the pinnacle of Corgi's classic era firefighter range. The Corgi 1127 was produced from 1964 to 1974: • 1964-1968: First illustrated cardboard box, spun steel wheels, 6 blue firefighter figures, gold/chrome Simon arm. • 1968-1974: Modified box, then Whizzwheels for some late versions. All versions: red Bedford cab, yellow basket, gold articulated arm, silver platform, water cannon, figures. The model is referred to as "with spun hubs" for the early versions. The model offered is the red Bedford cab version, yellow basket with a black firefighter figure, gold articulated arm with chrome hoses, chrome water cannon on the platform, firefighter figures in the cab. Black plastic wheels with chrome plastic insert. The inscription "SIMON SNORKEL" is engraved on the arm. Model in good overall condition with some slight signs of use.
