Description: The Corgi Major 1152 Mack Truck Petrol Tanker is one of the large articulated trucks in the Corgi Major range, introduced in 1973. It features the American Mack cab (a typical US cab-over-engine tractor) coupled with a "Gloster Saro" tanker semi-trailer in Esso livery. This model is part of Corgi's strategy to offer "big rigs" that fascinated British children of the time. The blue/yellow Corgi Major box (1970s style with rainbows) is characteristic of this period. The chassis bears the inscription "Die-castings in Mazak / Made in Great Britain / Mettoy-Playcraft / © 1973 The Mettoy Co. Ltd." It was produced until the late 1970s. It comes in two box presentations: an initial closed cardboard box (illustrated) then the yellow/blue blister display box shown in the photo. The tanker is articulated and detaches from the tractor. The tanker features a coupling/uncoupling mechanism for the semi-trailer. Here we offer this white Mack tractor with red interior cab, white tanker with red stripe and Esso logo. Raw zamac wheels (first type with rubber tires); beautiful first version (later it would be equipped with nylon wheels with chrome plastic insert). The model is sold with its original blue/yellow display box (rigid plastic base and clear lid box). Box in good condition with some slight wear. The model is in very good overall condition, almost without apparent flaws.
