Description: A very beautiful small model from the firm France Jouet; a company originally called "France Jouet Mécaniques," founded in Marseille just after the war by Henry Fauvel and Jean-Marie Moheng. This GAK dump truck, manufactured in the early 1960s, is functional thanks to its two articulated arms. The model is complete with all its tires, including the spare wheel. These are all original, white, and notched tires, typical of France Jouets. We also appreciate the presence of the rear hatch, which is often missing. This is an early version, easily identifiable by its raw zamac rims and the absence of glazing in the cabin. I find France Jouet's productions full of charm. What boldness and intelligence! They dared! By opting for this scale, FJ was able to specialize in the production of trucks and utility vehicles while still allowing children to put the toy in their jacket or pants pocket! They could easily take it to school and play with it during recess! Moreover, it should also be noted that there was no compromise: France Jouets models are both extremely robust, always feature a mechanism with various articulated or rotating systems... while maintaining a sense of detail by offering very faithful miniatures. Furthermore, one could have endless fun creating variants, with different cabin colors, different types of rims, tire colors... Finally, it is worth noting that this model exists with or without the marking corresponding to the tipper manufacturer: SEMAT PARIS. The truck presented here does have this marking. For the record, the SEMAT firm still exists today! The model is sold as is, with its minor flaws... But given its price, all is forgiven!
