Description: The DAF 2600, which rolled off the Eindhoven production lines in 1962, was the Dutch brand's first large truck to feature the tilting cab (kantelcabine), which soon became the flagship of Dutch road transport. It was precisely this status as the flagship of the Dutch network that led Lion Car (Lion Toys), a company entirely dedicated to the national manufacturer DAF, to make it the inaugural piece of its range of 1/50 scale heavy trucks. The 2600 tractor was available with a multitude of semi-trailers — box, tanker, car carrier, container carrier — and dressed in an impressive number of liveries, most often advertising the colors of major Dutch transport companies. The model features the characteristic details of the series: a 2600 cab tilting forward, a tanker semi-trailer for fuels and industrial liquids, and dual-mounted rear axles (twin) mounted here on a tridem. In the range, the 2600 was then replaced by the DAF 2800 "maxi code" from 1977; the real model having been marketed from 1973. The model we are offering comes from the first versions produced by Lion Car in the mid-1960s; and was sold until the mid-1970s. It is distinguished by a two-tone red and white cab and a plain silver and yellow tanker. This version is rare, because usually, the sides are painted red! This version has no advertising decoration (a sober and unusual livery!). It rolls on its red-painted zamac rims (red hubs) fitted with black treaded tires. There are a few small chips, but it remains very reasonable. Complete model. Entirely original. The whole is in good general condition, with a very shiny paint job.
