Description: Since the 1960s, Lion Car has produced a wide range of DAF trucks with special equipment, reflecting the industrial and agricultural uses of DAF vehicles in the Netherlands. The Nr.47 represents a DAF equipped with a hopper/spreader (used for spreading salt, sand, or fertilizer), common equipment on Dutch roads. The combination of the green DAF 2600 cab and white hopper with spreader nozzles is characteristic of the Lion Car range from the 1960s-70s. The blue/yellow box corresponds to the first generation of Lion Car packaging. The actual 2600 truck is a two-axle truck from the DAF range produced from 1963 to 1975, equipped with a distinctive forward control cab recognizable by its vertical grille and double headlights. Robust and economical, it was widely used in public works, agriculture, and road maintenance in the Netherlands and neighboring countries. The Lion Car Nr.47 was produced in several colors (red, green, orange) with different superstructure equipment. The green/white version is one of the most common in the construction range. Earlier series have the blue/yellow box with colorful graphic illustration, later series a more sober box. Here, our DAF 2600 cab is dark green, the spreader hopper is white with nozzles, green ramp, red rims, black rubber tires. Good overall condition, some light signs of use on the hopper. Blue/yellow box present with some wear and slightly damaged corners. We regret the absence of a tab, and an internal tape reinforcement that consolidates the four sides.
