Reference Dinky Toys ( France ) : 34B

Box only - of the individual cardboard box type (4 sides, 4 flaps, 2 tabs)

Model status: 4.2

Description: The Berliet GLR (Grande Levée Roues - Large Wheel Lift) is one of the most iconic trucks of post-war French reconstruction. Introduced in 1949 by Paul Berliet, it stood out with its semi-forward cab, curved hood, and powerful diesel engine. Dinky Toys France, always attentive to French automotive news, chose to reproduce this truck in its catalog under reference 34B as a "flatbed with container" version. This model is part of the large series of Berliet GLR/GLM utility vehicles, which are among the greatest successes of the Dinky Toys France range from the 1950s-60s, alongside the quarry dump truck (34A). The particularity of the 34B is its removable gray zamac container, placed on a red flatbed — which makes it particularly playable and at the same time constitutes its main point of fragility: lost or broken containers are numerous. We offer here this beautiful, complete, and well-formed box. This is the illustrated yellow Dinky Toys box, reference 34B, "Berliet Flatbed with Container" — the version with the mention "C'est une fabrication Meccano / Made in France". The box is in the individual cardboard format (4 sides, 4 flaps, 2 tabs), characteristic of French Dinky Toys production from the 1950s-60s. The box shows some normal wear and tear for its age but remains legible and in good overall condition. For collectors looking for an original box to complete their model, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
