Item with its box - showcase-type - flexible (die-cut cardboard and transparent plastic film)

Model status: 4.8

Description: The only real rival to the untouchable McLarens in the 1971 Can-Am series, the Lola T260 driven by Jackie Stewart, freshly crowned Formula 1 world champion, was a David against Goliath – and the Scottish champion still managed some brilliant performances, including a victory at Mont-Tremblant. It is this aura of a heroic barchetta, appearing in the midst of current sporting events, that prompted Politoys to immortalize it at 1/43rd scale in its "E" diecast series under reference E33, at a time when Italian manufacturers competed to quickly immortalize the prototypes of the moment in zamac – just before the Milanese firm became Polistil. The reproduction is attractive with its white L&M livery, black plastic wheels with chrome trim and, above all, its neat presentation in a clear display box with a decal sheet to apply, a trademark dear to collectors. The reference would continue under the Polistil name, through successive print runs. The example offered bears the number 3 – a "toy" number, where the real L&M raced as number 1 – and comes complete, with its original box and decal sheet: a very valuable set for those who love Can-Am barchettas from the golden age. Beautiful paint; with instructions; complete box in good condition; these models with their boxes deserve to be collected...the boxes are rare! Small price! A beautiful racing piece in a display box, grab it now.
