Item with its box - "blister-pack" type
Model status: 5.0
Description: Milcars was a distributor of plastic toys from the 1970s-1980s, specializing in small injection-molded plastic vehicles sold in blister packs. These low-end toys, often described as "bazaar toys," were manufactured in France ("printed in France" appeared on the blister pack) and distributed primarily in supermarkets and bazaars. The brand is poorly documented today, and its production remains difficult to trace precisely. The "Milcars" blister pack mentions "roues super vitesse / Superfast / rocket wheels / Superräder," terminology based on the Matchbox Superfast and Hot Wheels ranges, indicating fast wheels with needle axles. This also proves the company's desire to export its products to neighboring countries. Milcars notably used manufacturers Champion and Safir to source its miniature models. By using this vehicle in the colors of Cirque Pinder, an emblematic French circus founded in the 19th century – and which has been the subject of numerous promotional miniatures from various manufacturers (Majorette, Corgi, Solido-Verem, etc.) – we understand the commercial strategy of this French distributor to offer attractive promotional models. The Milcars range offered its models in several colors and thematic liveries... thanks to the productions of the Champion firm. This canvas-top truck exists in a "Cirque Pinder" version (yellow body, grey canvas with pink inscription) and a "firefighter" version. Both variants share the same basic mold. The wheels are "fast wheels" type, one-piece plastic, with a thin axle. No precise documentation on the exact years of production could be sourced; the characteristics of the blister pack and the fast wheels place production in the 1970s to early 1980s. The price of 3.90 F indicated on the blister pack confirms production from that era. Overall condition: excellent, never-played-with model in its original intact blister pack. Beautiful bright yellow body, neat grey canvas with "CIRQUE PINDER" in pink. The red and white Milcars blister pack is complete and in good condition. This bazaar model with its circus theme is charming – take this opportunity to add it to your collection.
