Description: The subject is a forward control DAF from the light/medium range, a common sight on European roads in the 1980s. Its cab is one of the most interesting of the era: developed jointly by the "Club of Four" (DAF, Saviem-Renault, Volvo, Magirus-Deutz), it was found, with minor variations, on trucks from rival brands. AHC Models, in the Netherlands, produced this 1/50th scale promotional model for the DAF network. The piece is appealing with its clean cab and taut blue tarpaulin. Our model has a unique characteristic. Indeed, in the early 80s, AHC developed a partnership with the Spanish company Pilen. And the latter would handle production. Our model comes from this ultimate production. Despite its AHC branding, the box clearly states that the model was made in Spain by Pilen. The model is in new condition, in its original DAF display case. A good foundation for a collector of Dutch heavy goods vehicles.
