The BRK 144 reference reproduces the 1935 Studebaker Dictator Six series 1-A: for that year, the design was refined and the range expanded to no less than 13 body styles, from the three-window coupe to the Land Cruiser. The model reproduced corresponds to the entry-level sedan, sold for $750. The name Dictator, used since 1927, was abandoned in 1937 due to the connotation becoming problematic with the rise of European dictatorships...

Produced at 1/43 scale, it features the typical characteristics of Brooklyn's production: white metal manufacturing, handcrafted finish, significant weight, robust engraving, and attention to preserving the original shapes. Our example is the Gulf Stream Blue Poly, but there is a variant referenced BRK 144A in Roosevelt Maroon.

Founded in England in the early 1970s, Brooklyn Models specialized in the handcrafted reproduction of American and British vehicles rarely covered by major industrial manufacturers. The brand has built a solid reputation among collectors thanks to its limited-series white metal miniatures, prioritizing historical accuracy over technical sophistication. Today, this reference is one of Brooklyn Models' classic productions and perfectly illustrates the brand's philosophy: to introduce collectors to historical automobiles rarely represented in miniature. It also provides a faithful testimony to the golden age of American automobiles preceding World War II.
