Description: The Daimler SP250 debuted at the 1959 New York Auto Show as the "Dart." Daimler quickly had to abandon the name: Dodge already owned it and threatened a lawsuit. Thus the SP250 was born. Its fiberglass body and finned design were divisive—it was even rumored to have been voted the ugliest car at the show—but it concealed a significant asset: a 2.5-liter V8 with hemispherical cylinder heads, designed by Edward Turner, the father of Triumph motorcycle engines, and disc brakes on all four wheels, rare at the time. It was fast enough for the London police to purchase a series of them, painted black and with automatic transmissions, to catch "café racer" motorcyclists. This is exactly the kind of atypical and somewhat forgotten British car that Pathfinder Models loved to revive. Located in Bangor-on-Dee, Wales, the Sharrock couple specialized in British sedans and sports cars from the 1940s to the 1970s that had been neglected by major manufacturers, reproduced in hand-assembled white metal and in numbered editions of 600 pieces. The SP250 was assigned reference PFM9 at the very beginning of the 1990s. The work is meticulous: finely engraved casting, chrome bumpers, overriders, trim strips, and small additional headlights, a removable black hardtop, clear glazing, and a detailed interior. The wheels are solid silver-painted discs with chrome hubcaps (painted steel disc wheels with chrome hubcaps), fitted with smooth black tires (smooth black tires). The small Welsh workshop produced this PFM9 in several versions—a cream one with the hardtop up, a burgundy one with the soft top down—and even provided a black police variant for the Peregrine brand (PER9), before the Pathfinder range ceased production due to Jeff Sharrock's declining health. The model offered is the cream version with a black hardtop, numbered out of 600: clean paint, well-placed chrome, clear glazing, a complete and original set, with only the minimal traces of wear from its age.
