#2423 - Landsdowne by Brooklin - Austin - A40 Somerset Saloon Four-Door

Reference Landsdowne by Brooklin ( Great Britain ) : LDM 9

Lansdowne Models

Item with box - cardboard box type (4 sides, 4 flaps, 2 tabs)

Model status: 4.8

Description: With its "Transatlantic" line borrowed from the large A70 Hereford, the Austin A40 Somerset primarily aimed to attract exports, particularly to America; it would remain the last Austin model with a separate chassis before the birth of BMC. This rounded and endearing silhouette, typical of British family cars of the early 1950s, made it an ideal candidate for Brooklin Models when the Bath-based firm launched its Lansdowne range in 1993: a collection of British classics designed from the outset for adult display cases, in the spirit of the Dinky toys of yesteryear. The miniature illustrates all the workshop's expertise: hand-cast in white metal, individually applied paint, chrome grille and bumpers, side strips, fitted glazing, detailed interior. Produced in small series, it was accompanied by its convertible "Coupé" version (LDM 9A / 9X), some numbered special editions of which are rarer. The offered example is a superb light green saloon: shiny paint, crisp chrome, clear glazing, complete cream interior, all resting on its wheels with chrome hubcaps and black rubber tyres. Sold with its Lansdowne box, simply marked by a little use, it constitutes a beautiful 1/43 scale collector's item. At this price, why deny yourself?

  • Our models

Auto Jaune Junior offers vintage toys, accessories, documents, and other spare parts that may show slight signs of wear, dirt, or missing pieces. We take great care in describing each item to accurately reflect its condition and make it a point to note any major defects or peculiarities (repainted models, paint touch-ups, crude modifications, inaccurate decals, non-original boxes, etc.).
  • The descriptions

However, the quality and accuracy of our description may sometimes be proportional to the value of the model: for lower-priced models, the description may be more concise. Nevertheless, each product for sale is photographed from three angles; and we have implemented the ability to zoom in on the photos (by clicking on them) to allow you to examine the product in detail.
that's only if you had it in your own hands.
