Superb product, completely original! How charming these Solido Junior dolls are! As a reminder, after launching the famous Gergovia candles in 1932 (one year before the first Dinky toys!), Ferdinand de Vazeilles launched a range of small, demountable and transformable cars. This range, launched in 1933, quickly met with great success and in 1938, the range officially took the name Solido Junior. This series will continue until the 1960s! It was in the mid-1950s that Solido launched its famous 100 series in order to compete with Dinky Toys. The model offered here is an original. It's full of charm. It's a true piece of history. With its modular and transformable design, the possible combinations are almost endless! Personally, I like to draw a parallel between Solido and the Danish company Lego, as their paths have intersected. Lego initially offered scale models. Then, little by little, they developed a system of bricks to build the models… And we know the result and the success of this now multinational company. I like to think that the leaders of Lego may have been inspired by the brilliant idea of the de Vazeille family, taking the opposite approach. While Solido had abandoned the concept of models to assemble in order to focus on representations as faithful as those of the 100 series, it would seem that the Danish firm, surely overtaken by the productions of the firms Solido, Dinky Toys, but also, obviously, Tekno, had been forced to question itself… and think about a way to innovate! So, how can we not imagine that a leader of the Danish firm could have been inspired by the idea of the Solido Junior series to conceptualize the principle of what would become Legos? In conclusion, the model presented here is a true mythical symbol of an era when toy manufacturers had to compete in inventiveness and innovation to stand out. The prices asked for these models, some of which will soon be approaching a century of history, seem quite ridiculous! My father entrusted me with about 40 models from this series to sell at the Mulhouse and Pont-Audemer model fairs. I was pleased to sell quite a few at those fairs. Here are the last models currently available! It's up to you to enjoy it!
