#6317 - Taiseiya Micro Pet - Buick - Electra (rare series - Battery operated)
Reference Taiseiya Micro Pet ( Japan ) : #1
Flasher Lamp Series
Item with its box - of "Cardboard box" type (base and lid)
Model status: 4.8
This superb Buick Electra is equipped with cream-colored painted zamac wheels, and it has a very nice glossy paint finish. We only note a small chip on the left windshield pillar. The model is in excellent condition and comes with its beautiful and rare box. This piece is particularly interesting: T aiseiya launched its Micro Pet range in 1961 to compete with Asahi's Model Pet... but a year later, the brand was renamed Cherryca Phenix (the name Micro Pet being considered too similar to Model Pet). Between these two series, around 1962, 1963, Taiseiya attempted a technical innovation: a small "Flasher Lamp" series using the bodywork and detailed interior of the future Cherryca Phenix, but equipped with a 1.5 V battery and a switch housed under the chassis. Two bulbs illuminated the front headlights, taillights, license plate, and - via a cutout in the dashboard - the interior. The firm only marketed two models in this series before abandoning the idea.
